DUB STAX– Dub Stax

“Automat” (cult electronic band from Berlin) drummer ACHIM FÄRBER picked a couple of musicians – hired a couple of vocalist and made it happen – a homage to the wonderful soul label Stax In Dub = DUB STAX.

It is a heady, downtempo tour de force of soul metaphors on education, displacement and personal vs. global histories. It is all about STAX records, the label who had more than SOUL; and it is all about balancing the spirit of Dub into this icon.

Overall, the album reflects a life between SOUL and DUB, developing a sonic synergy between two different geographical strains of groove and minimalism, and combining them with the foundational mixing techniques of DUB,
